Art of the Blue Danube

Join presenter John Paul Thornton for an online "Summer art vacation" to Vienna and Budapest,  as exquisite museums, soaring architecture and elegant gardens come to life. Artists featured from Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum include  Rubens, Caravaggio, Vermeer and Rembrandt, While the palacial Belvedere Gallery showcases Klimt, Schiele, and Broncia Koller-Pinell. We will stroll the Ringstrasse and visit the opera.  On to Budapest! We will  venture within the palatial parliament building and meet many remarkable Hungarian artists, lighting your romantic imagination. The Doheny Synagogue and Tree of Life memorial will connect us to a thriving Hungarian-Jewish community. The grand histories of the Danube’s rich culture provide a backdrop to breathtaking artistic discovery.
